Introduction
Why Canada is an incredible option and the universities that offer full scholarships.
Full Scholarships in Canada for International Students (Bachelor's Degree)#
Let me be real with you. There are over 100 universities in Canada. Most of them will charge you $20,000 to $50,000 per year in tuition alone. Add rent, food, transport, and you are looking at serious money.
But here is the good news. A small number of Canadian universities actually offer fully funded scholarships to international students. I am talking about tuition plus living expenses. Zero dollars out of your pocket.
I have spent years helping students from all over the world find these opportunities. I have seen students from Africa, Asia, South America, and the Caribbean land these scholarships and completely change their lives. So trust me when I say — this is real and it is possible for you too.
Why Canada?#
Canada is one of the best countries in the world for international students. Here is why:
- Safe country with a welcoming, multicultural society
- High quality education recognized worldwide
- Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) — after you finish your degree, Canada gives you a work permit so you can stay and work. This is huge. Most countries do not do this.
- Path to Permanent Residency — Canada actually wants skilled graduates to stay. The immigration system rewards people who study and work in Canada.
- English and French speaking — you can study in English at most universities
Compare that to the US where the student visa situation is stressful, or the UK where post-study work options are more limited. Canada stands out.
My Top Recommendations#
After researching and helping hundreds of students, these are the universities I recommend for full or near-full undergraduate scholarships:
Full Scholarships#
- University of British Columbia — International Scholars Program
- University of Toronto — Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship
Near-Full Scholarship#
- Simon Fraser University — Undergraduate Scholars Entrance Scholarship (USES) — covers full tuition, and if you demonstrate financial need, SFU can add a living allowance on top. Close to a full ride, but the living allowance is not guaranteed for everyone.
Honorable Mentions#
- University of Regina — International Student of Distinction Scholarship — covers housing costs, not full tuition. Still a helpful award, but it is not a full scholarship.
UBC and U of T are the strongest options for a truly full scholarship. SFU is excellent and can be a full ride if you demonstrate financial need. University of Regina is worth knowing about but should not be your primary target if you need everything covered.

Before You Start#
I want you to approach this course with the right mindset. These scholarships are competitive. Thousands of students apply every year. But students win them every single year too. Someone is going to get that scholarship. Why not you?
The students who win are not always the ones with perfect grades. They are the ones who prepare early, follow the steps carefully, and present themselves authentically.
