US college degrees are some of the most expensive pieces of paper on the planet. But here's what no one tells you. The price tag is real. But the price you pay doesn't have to be. In this video, I'll show you how I beat this system and how you can, too. [Music] So, the average international student in America pays somewhere between $40 to $70,000 a year for college. And if you now multiply that by four years, you're going to be looking at something like a4 million, you know, so $250,000 for a bachelor's degree. And now that is a lot of money. And the big thing about all of this is even though that degree may be costing over $200,000, it doesn't even guarantee a job to the international student once they graduate. And what I found out is that the system is built to confuse you so that you can pay full price. But that is a lie. Like you do not have to pay full price. And I'm going to show you how you can beat this system. I am an international student who came from South Africa and I couldn't afford to pay $60,000 a year, right? And I also wasn't able to even get out some debt because if I could, I would have, but I just did not come from the place where I could even take out $60,000 in debt. So, what happened is I actually started at this thing called college. And community college is basically a two-year college. And I've actually made a video about that and I'll put it up here somewhere. But basically, I went to community college first and I paid a few,000 a year, something like $3,000 a year. Then while in community college I actually studied hard. Then I joined something called FTHEA Kappa. And then only after I joined FTHEA Kappa and graduated I actually transferred to a 4year school. And when I transferred I actually got a very big scholarship doing that transfer. Now the cool thing about all of this is I transferred into that four-year school as a junior. So, I went in as a third-year student and I was able to graduate with my bachelor's degree within two years of transferring. So, the truth is US college and university pricing isn't fair. There's the sticker price and then there's the real price. So, this is how you can make sure you get the real price instead of paying the full sticker price. What you should do is you should start at a community college because it's 70% cheaper and you're able to transfer most of your courses. Once you're there, apply to Fthea Kapper as this opens you up for scholarships when you transfer. And then once you've done that, transfer smart. So some state schools will actually give you instate tuition and I actually made a video about that up here. So take a look at them. Then also take a look at a couple of private schools. I know private schools might look more expensive, but the thing about it is they give a lot of financial aid and scholarships. So there's even this thing called need blind admission and basically I actually made a video about that that I'm going to put somewhere up here, but it's a way for you to go to a school and study there basically for free. Now a lot of those schools are actually private schools. So, what you should do is still consider private schools while transferring. Just try and find those schools that will give you a full ride scholarship. So, most international students don't actually come from Maui and they're using savings, loans, and even selling property so that they can get a shot at that American dream. But the reason why I made this video is because nobody really warns them about the traps that happen when you come to America. One of which is overpriced degrees. And the system is so confusing because it doesn't really tell you that you can be paying much much less. They'll just tell you that there scholarships out there, but they really won't tell you how to get them or how you can pay less money in America. Now, I'm hoping that this video is going to give you some insight on things that you can do in order for you to pay less money as an international student when you come to study in America. One of the biggest myths that I've heard out here is that community college doesn't provide you with quality education. And that is a lie. Because I'll tell you one thing, and I went to private schools and even the Ivy League, and yet some of the best professors I had were in community college. Another myth is that you won't get into a top school. Again, this is a lie because so many schools love transfer students with a story. Again, it's a great student population to have that's going to diversify their population. Again, transfer students bring a variety of diversity to their campuses and they love love love having transfer students. So, the next myth is that international students don't get aid. Again, this is a lie. You just have to be strategic about it. And one of the best ways to actually be strategic about it is to subscribe to my channel because what I'm going to do is I'm going to just provide you with all the information that I have when it comes to international students and how you can get fullr scholarships and how you can transfer to great schools and how you can navigate the complex educational system in America. So definitely subscribe to this channel.
