Why Extracurricular Activities Matter for USA College Admissions

One of the main reasons why schools in america reject international students is simply because they do not have strong extracurricular activities. Now, let me explain this because it's super important. In america, the admission process is holistic, and basically what that means is they look at a lot of aspects of your application and not just your test scores. This is why many international students who have excellent test scores and grades still get rejected by many universities in america. And it's simply because they only have good grades and test scores, but they don't have the other side of things, which is things like extracurricular activities. Now, extracurricular activity is basically the things that you doing outside of school. So think of it as maybe you're running a club, or maybe you're playing sports, or maybe you're running a small organisation. Something that you're doing outside of your academics is seen as an extracurricular activity. So what you need to do if you're applying to many of these schools that give full scholarships to international students is you need to have excellent extracurricular activities in order for you to have a very good chance of getting accepted. And I cannot stress how important this is. If you don't have great extra curricular activities, you most likely will get rejected by the schools that you're applying to. This is because most of these schools that give full scholarships are quite competitive to get into and they're looking for students Who have more than just high grades.
