USA Freezes Visa Processing for 75 Countries: Impact on Students 2026

You may have heard that the American government has frozen visa processing for 75 countries. Now, what I wanna say is that this does not affect international students. So if your country is on that list and you're an international student, then this does not affect you. This is primarily for people who wanna get green cards and American citizenship. The U S. Government is trying to scrutinise their applications more. So what they doing in the meantime is pausing all visa processing. Now, of course, if your country has been put on the band list, that is a different story. That means that you cannot get a student visa in order to come and study in America. So if you are on the band list, that is still in effect. But if your country is not on the band list, but it's one of these 75 countries that they've blocked visa processing for, then you can still get a visa in order to come and study in America in 2,026.
