The United States of America has just updated their travel ban list, and what this means is that more countries have been added to the travel ban. Now, this is big because they also added a partial ban to many countries. And basically, for the partial ban, what that means is that you cannot get a visa to come and study in America or to come travel here as a tourist. Now, all of this goes into effect in January of 2026. So if you're looking to study in America next year and you come from one of these countries, then you would not be able to. Now, what I'm going to do is actually go through the list of all the countries that are banned. Afghanistan, Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, South Sudan, Syria, Chad, Burma, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen. Now, the countries on the partial ban are Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Venezuela, Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Côte D'ivoire, Dominica, Gabon, The Gambia, Malawi, Mauritania, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania, Tonga, Zambia, Zimbabwe. What this all means is that if you come from any one of these countries and you only have citizenship of that country and not dual citizenship in another country that's not banned, then, unfortunately, you won't be able to come and study in America next year because it'll be very hard for you to get a visa. Now, this is devastating news, and it's going to be challenged In court, of course. But again, we just don't know what the outcome is going to look like. So what I would say to my community is I would still encourage you to be applying to universities in America just in case they lift the travel bans. Now, I will keep you guys updated on any changes. So do make sure that you following my page so that you stay updated with the most important immigration news.
