US Travel Ban 2026: What F1 Students from 39 Countries Should Do

Many international students have been asking me what should they do if their country has been placed on the travel ban list? And this is my advice. Still apply to schools in america. And the reason why I say this is because if you get accepted into any of these schools, then you can actually defer your admissions, meaning that you can tell the school that you can't come this year, but you'll be able to come next year. And what this does is it buys your country time. This is because the united states of america is continuously analysing which countries to keep on the travel ban list and which countries to take off of it. So maybe your country can be taken off the travel ban list in the next year or so. What you wanna do is give yourself an opportunity to still be able to attend a school if you get accepted to it later on. Now, one of the things about applying to schools right now is that there is a decrease in the number of international students applying to their colleges and universities. And basically what this means is it's actually easier for you to get accepted into these colleges and universities right now than it will be in the coming years, because in the coming years, once all of these restrictions are lifted, then the competition is going to come back. So what you should be doing is looking at the schools that You love the most and applying to them. And if you get accepted to any one of them, then what you can do is defer your admissions and you'll be able to come to the school in the coming year.
