I want to address the elephant in the room. Over the last couple of days, I've been receiving hundreds of messages from people about the recent immigration policies in America. In fact, many of them have been asking me, why should I come study in America? It seems like America right now is very anti immigrant. So why should we come and study here? What are the benefits? And is the information that I'm giving about studying in America true? So I am going to address each of these concerns. Yes, immigration policies in America have changed and as a result, it is much more challenging to come and study in America as an immigrant. There is also more negative rhetoric that's being directed to immigrants in America. So that is totally true. However, it is not to the extent that these news organisations make it seem. I've been in communication with thousands of international students who are currently studying in America and many of them have not even seen an ICE agent. Now, of course there are some that do, but the majority of the people that I've spoken to have not. Now, if you coming to America illegally, that's a different story. But if you legally coming to America and studying in America and following all the rules and regulations, then you will not have as much issues with immigration. Now, to address the next point, why should you come and study in America? Well, this is a Much more simpler one. America is still the land of opportunity for immigrants. This is because if you come and study in America, you can get a full scholarship in order to study. There's over 60 schools that give full scholarships to international students who want to come and study in America. These schools also have a holistic admission process, meaning that they look far beyond your grades and your test scores in order to decide whether they should accept you or not. Now, this is super important because not many other places around the world have this type of admission policy. So what that means is, even if you have a low grade in your home country, or you don't have the best grades or very low test scores, then you can still come and study at the best universities in America. This is exactly what happened to me. I didn't have the perfect grades in South Africa, and I was unable to go to any school in South Africa. However, I was able to come and study in America on a full scholarship, and I was also able to go to the IVY League. So there's a ton of opportunities for you to come and study in America. Now, to follow up on that, if you study in America and you get a degree, it means that you can also work in America. Now, this is super important because many students that I know who have studied something like Computer science or even nursing are making over $100,000 per year. And no, this is not with five years, six years, seven years of experience. I'm talking about once they've graduated, their first job is in the six figure range. So if you want that type of opportunity, then you definitely need to come and study in America. Now, if you've heard all of this and you still uncertain about coming to America, then that is fine. You do not need to come to America. You don't have to come study here. You can always go somewhere else, America is truly only for those people who see the opportunities that it offers.
