if you're an international student that's currently studying at a community college do not transfer early to a four year school now basically what I mean by that is if you do not have or if you did not attain your associate's degree do not transfer to a four year school yet and the reason being is because if you transfer to a four year school immediately without getting your degree then you give up your ability to apply for OPT for your associate's degree so OPT is actually a program designed by the government which allows you to work in America for up to one year so if you get your associate's degree you are eligible to apply for that program and actually do that program before going back to school to go and get your bachelor's degree now this is something that I actually did I went on my OPT after I graduated with my associate's degree so I went on my OPT for a year before returning back to school and actually going and getting my bachelor's degree so it's a great way for you to not only make money but also to get experience directly after your associate's degree if you do not get your associate's degree then you wouldn't qualify for this so my recommendation to you in order to take full advantage of this is to actually get your associate's degree and then go and do your OPT for a year and then go back and do your bachelor's degree it's totally possible and it's a great way to make money save money and also get great experience
