If you're an international student who wants to come and study in America on a full scholarship, then I need you to listen to this. There are certain people who are running scams when it comes to universities in America. And basically what they do is they create a fake university online, and they make a website of it, which looks very legitimate. Then what they do is they advertise that they can give you a full scholarship if you get accepted to them. These universities have really good websites. They look very legitimate to somebody who isn't familiar with U S. Universities. And what they try and do is take advantage of the situation. So they know that many of you guys want money to come study in America, and that's what they do. They throw it in your face that you can get full scholarships if you get accepted to their schools. Now, the reason why they do this is because they want to get your registration and enrolment fee. So how it works is, once they accept you, they will actually ask you for an enrolment fee. Then once you pay, they'll also start asking you for other fees. So you need to be very careful of them. Now, there are three ways that you can identify whether a school is a scam or not. The first way you can try and identify whether they're a scam or not is by looking at U S. News. Now, U. S. News has a bunch of colleges that they've actually evaluated and looked at. So what you can do is search to see if your college is on U. S. News. If it's not then it's most likely not a school that is real. Now the second way is to look at this other website which is called the database of Accredited post secondary institutions and programs. Now this is a government website and it has a list of accredited universities. So what you can do is actually look to see if the university that has contacted you is accredited. If it's not an accredited university, then it is not a university that you can go to as an international student and most likely it means that it is a scam. Now the third way is to actually look at homeland security. Now Homeland Security is who issues the visas to international students. They also have a database of schools that can get international students. So what you wanna do is search for the school on the database on Homeland Security's website. Now one other thing to also watch out is if they are sending you WhatsApp or Telegram messages that is a major red flag. Most universities do not contact you through WhatsApp or Telegram.
