The D V. Lottery has been paused. And this is because of what happened at Brown University a couple of days ago. Now, if you don't know about the D V. Lottery, it's basically a diversity visa, whereby the government of the United States of America gives up to 55,000 individuals a green card in order for them to come to America. Now, how it works is that this diversity visa lottery is a lottery, and it looks at countries that have very low immigration rates to the United States of America, and it opens up an application for those people at those countries for them to be able to apply to the diversity lottery, which means that if they win that lottery, then they can get a green card to come and live in America. Now, unfortunately, one of the people who got a green card through this program actually went to Brown University and did something absolutely terrible. Now, I'm not gonna mention what they did over here. You can just go Google that. But basically, because that individual went to Brown University and did that, now, the U S. Government is reviewing this visa, and as they are reviewing it, they've decided to pause it. So that means there is no D V. Lottery this year, which is, like, the first time in so many years that this has happened. So right now, we don't know how long it's going to take before it reopens, or even whether it's Going to reopen, but as of right now, it is paused, so you cannot apply for the D V. Lottery. Now, if you wanna keep up to date with the latest news about immigration, then make sure you're following my page, because this page is dedicated to international students and foreign individuals who are looking to come and immigrate to the United States of America.
