Berea College: Free Tuition for International Students in Kentucky

If you are someone who wants to come study in America for free as an international student, then I've got this school that you need to know about. [Music] So hi there, I am William Pervu and I actually came to America from South Africa as an international student in 2013. And while in America, I actually started out at a community college first and then I transferred to a 4-year school on a full ride scholarship and then later on I went to get my master's degree. Now I wish during this whole process of me being an international student in America that I had known about this college. This college is basically a gamecher when it comes to trying to get your education in America for free. So this college is actually called Berea College and it's a college that's located in Kentucky. Now at that college in particular, they actually have a tuition promise. And this tuition promise basically states that any student that gets accepted to the college does not have to pay any tuition. So I'm going to say that again. Any student that gets accepted into the college does not have to pay tuition. So in essence, you'll be going to that school for free. Now the big thing about it is you can be an international student and attend this college and you will not have to pay any tuition. And it gets even better. The school will actually help you get a job on campus so that you can have some extra money. Think about that. And they also have other funding opportunities that allow you to eat on campus for free and even live on campus for free. So in essence, you could get a full ride scholarship to this school if you just get in. That is absolutely incredible and more international students need to know about this. The other great thing about this school is that the acceptance rate is only around 30%. And basically what that means is that three in 10 people who apply get in. Now that is much higher. Even though that classifies the school as highly selective, it's not as competitive as like the Harvards and the MITs and those schools. Those schools acceptance rates are like 5%. So meaning five out of 100 people make it in, you know, whereby this school's acceptance rate is 30 out of 100 people get in. So, the odds are definitely more in your favor if you apply to this school. And if you get in, you'll get a full tuition scholarship. So, I'll encourage you to definitely definitely apply. The deadline to apply to the school is December 15th. So, right now, you still have a lot of time to get your documentations ready so that you can send an application to the school. Remember, this is very rare in America. Not many schools provide funding to international students. So, when you find a school that does, definitely try and take advantage of it because it can save you tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars.
