Final Words

Encouragement and next steps for your journey to studying in America.

Studying for FREE in America is possible. It is not a dream. It is not only for rich people or people with connections. It is real, and thousands of international students do it every single year.

I know the process feels overwhelming. There are forms, deadlines, essays, tests, and visa interviews. It is a lot. But you do not have to do it all at once. Take it one step at a time. One chapter at a time. One form at a time.

The hardest part is not the application itself. The hardest part is believing that it is possible for YOU. I know because I was in your shoes. I came from a place where studying in America seemed impossible. I did not have money. I did not have connections. I did not have anyone who had done it before me to show me the way.

But I had determination. I had the internet. And I figured it out.

Now you have something I did not have — this guide. You have the information laid out step by step. You have the school lists, the strategies, the timelines, and the tips. You have everything you need to start.

Here is what I want you to remember:

  • Your background is your strength. Do not try to hide where you come from. Your story is what makes you different from every other applicant. Own it.
  • Rejection is not failure. You may get rejected from some schools. That is normal. Every successful person has been rejected. What matters is that you keep going.
  • Ask for help. You do not have to do this alone. Reach out to mentors, counselors, online communities, and organizations that help international students. There are people who want to see you succeed.
  • Start early. The earlier you start preparing, the better your application will be. Do not wait until the last minute.
  • Be honest. In your essays, in your financial aid forms, in your visa interview. Honesty is always the right choice.

If this guide helped you, share it with someone else who needs it. There are millions of talented students around the world who do not know that this opportunity exists. You can help change that.

You can do this. Good luck.

Your Next Steps#

Here is exactly what to do next, in order:

  1. Find schools that give full scholarships to international students. I've made the full list in Chapter 1: Schools That Pay for You, and you can also grab the complete companion eBook here: 30 Colleges That Fully Fund International Students.

  2. Apply through the Common App. Once you have your schools, go to commonapp.org and start your application. I made a guide to make the Common App easy for international students: Common App Made Simple for International Students. You can also watch my YouTube walkthrough: youtu.be/2yYYGHaIK04.

  3. Submit the CSS Profile. Go to cssprofile.collegeboard.org before the deadline and make sure all your documents are submitted. The CSS Profile is how schools decide how much scholarship money you need. You can get a CSS fee waiver by checking my list of Universities With CSS Fee Waivers + Full Funding, and you can watch a full walkthrough of how to fill out the CSS here: youtu.be/7RMaX-NoiBQ.

  4. Want even more detail? Grab my FREE eBook companion to this course: How To Study for FREE in the USA (Bachelor's Degree). If you want to revisit any part of the FREE course you just finished, head back to the course overview.

  5. Need help getting into one of the top schools? Many of these schools are competitive. I wrote an eBook on exactly that — with example essays and extracurricular ideas: How To Get Into The Best Schools in America. I also built Culturo, an app that reviews your essays and rates your application so you can see where you stand before you hit submit.

If you still have questions after working through these steps, join The Village — my free Skool community where international students help each other through the process: skool.com/study-for-free-in-the-usa-6027. And if you want direct, personalized help from me, you can book a 1-on-1 call.
